We kicked off our networking at 5 PM sharp, setting the stage for an evening filled with powerful stories, insightful strategies, and meaningful connections. The summit began at 6 PM, diving deep into the “Why” behind the Black Wealth Summit. Our mission was clear: to dismantle barriers and empower ordinary black Londoners, many of whom have risen from modest beginnings to achieve millionaire status.
Speakers Who Moved and Motivated
- Taiwo Oyekan shared her remarkable journey from being considered a write-off at 16 to becoming a first-class graduate from Oxford University and a corporate success in London. Her message on “Chance” and “Change” left us all inspired to take control of our destinies.
- Dr. Daniel Moses opened up about his entrepreneurial journey, detailing the failures that led to his success in property. His commitment to work with delegates underscored the collaborative spirit of the summit.
- Representatives from Natwest Bank, Rosaline and Blessing, introduced us to Natwest Products designed to support ethnic minority and women-led businesses and shared invaluable tips on spotting financial crime.
- Mayowa Oluyede delivered an impactful talk on “Desire,” emphasizing the role of community in achieving our dreams. His advice on homeownership was a powerful reminder of the importance of building a solid foundation for our futures.
A Vision for the Future
Our host, Sam Onigbanjo, brought the evening to a close with a compelling vision for Black wealth. Highlighting success stories and strategies for creating multiple streams of income, Sam’s message was clear: reliance on a single job is not enough. We must diversify and innovate.
